Thread lifting with Silhouette Soft®, MINTLift® and COG threads in Frankfurt
Becoming a little more beautiful every day – with the new, minimally invasive method of thread lifting, this dream can also be realized.
The triangle of beauty, whose center of gravity is in the upper part of the face when we are young, migrates to the lower part of the face over time. The original proportions shift, the tissue sags, the first wrinkles appear and the skin loses its elasticity. In addition, the supporting structure of the skin changes: the connective tissue becomes thinner, collagen and elastane structures begin to break apart.
A thread lift is a reliable and painless way to maintain your natural beauty.
The thread lift uses 100% absorbable threads, which have been used in surgery for decades.
After many attempts and the use of a wide variety of materials, such as Goretex, gold and polypropylene, threads made of
polydioxanone (PDO), caprolactone and polylactic acid. These have long been used in surgery as absorbable (“self-dissolving”) suture materials. They are available in different strengths and lengths depending on the area of application.
The threads have different structures – smooth, spiral or with small hooks.
These special dissolving threads are applied to the subcutaneous fatty tissue, which tightens the skin and lifts the tissue to its original position.
The innovative threads are characterized by an extraordinarily long-lasting result of 12 to 24 months. They continuously counteract the natural skin ageing process and are broken down biologically without leaving any residue. The individual expression of the face is retained so that it continues to look natural.
Treatment with biodegradable threads made of polydioxanone (PDO), poly-lactic acid, PLCL (poly L-lactide-co ɛ-caprolactone) or PCL threads combines two effects:
The immediately visible tightening of the treatment area is followed by reactivation – known as biostimulation – of the connective tissue, so that the skin gains additional firmness. Targeted wrinkle treatment with threads can therefore achieve immediate, natural-looking and long-lasting skin tightening.
A thread lift ensures a natural appearance and you retain your natural facial expressions.
The thread lift is ideal for a combined treatment with hyaluronic acid. While the threads tighten your contours and stimulate the tissue, hyaluronic acid fills in deeper wrinkles.
The use of threads can be customized. Whether individual skin areas, the number of threads or combinations with other therapies: Together we will find the right treatment for your situation and your wishes!
Differentiation between thread therapy and thread lifting.
It is important to distinguish between thread lifting and thread therapy.
Thread therapy is a minimally invasive procedure in which special smooth threads are inserted under the skin to tighten it.
Smooth monofilaments are threads that consist of a single smooth material. They have no barbs that penetrate the tissue, but are mainly used to tighten the skin and improve skin quality.
Thread lifting with cog threads is a treatment to improve skin tightening and contouring.
Cog threads are provided with small hooks or prongs that allow the skin to be lifted and fixed better and achieve an immediate lifting effect.
A combination of both procedures is often effective. Not only can the skin be lifted or repositioned, but the skin quality, density and volume can also be greatly influenced.
The advantages at a glance:
- Very good compatibility
- 100 % degradable
- Build-up of new tissue (collagen tissue)
- The PDO threads combine with existing collagen(melting effect)
- Tissue tightening through activation of fibroblasts
- Increased vascularization(supply of tissues with blood vessels and the formation of new vessels. Well vascularized tissues and organs are well supplied with blood due to the many blood vessels.
- Visible rejuvenation effect without scars
- Stimulation of the body’s own collagen production
- Long-lasting effect
- Natural lifting with preservation of your own facial expressions
- Breakdown of fatty tissue (specific for PDO)
- Lightening of the skin tone
With our thread lifting, we attach great importance to the quality and safety of the materials used. For this reason, we only use medically certified threads that meet strict German standards. These threads are specially developed for aesthetic applications and offer not only a high level of biocompatibility, but also optimum durability and stability. The medical threads we use are made from high-quality materials that have been tried and tested in medicine for many years. They are designed to gently blend into the tissue and provide effective support without damaging the surrounding tissue. In addition, our sutures are available in different variations to meet the individual needs and wishes of our patients.

How does Silhouette Soft® thread lifting work?
The Silhouette Soft thread lift can help to lift the face, define the contours and improve the skin structure.
improve. The treatment is relatively painless and has a short recovery time compared to invasive surgery.

Who is suitable for a thread lift?
An essential point for a satisfactory result of a thread lift is the prior detailed examination of the patient and clarification of whether a thread lift is suitable at all based on the findings. If there are no exclusion criteria such as allergies, autoimmune diseases, the use of blood thinners, pregnancy or other illnesses, further analysis can be carried out.
In this context, however, it is important that the patient’s expectations of a thread lift are not exaggerated and that a realistic result is discussed.
The ideal patient for a thread lift with tension threads (barbed threads) is 35-55 years old and shows the first signs of volume loss. In older patients with significant excess skin and already severely sagging tissue, treatment alone is not sufficient and is sometimes not even recommended.
The situation is different for small wrinkles and volume loss limited to smaller areas. Good results can be achieved here by using so-called monofilaments.
When is a thread lift not possible?
A thread lift is not possible for the following patients:
- Patients with too much excess skin
- Patients with too thin skin (only thin, no tensile threads)
- Minors, pregnant and breastfeeding women
- Cancer patients
- Patients with acute inflammation in the regions to be treated
- Patients who are prone to keloids, so-called “proliferative scars”
- Patients with an immunodeficiency or autoimmune disease
What are the side effects and risks of thread lifting?
In principle, thread lifting is a safe, low-risk form of treatment with few side effects. The threads we use are approved as medical devices and are at the cutting edge of research and development. As the underlying materials have been used in surgery for over 30 years, optimum tolerability is guaranteed.
Regular side effects include hematomas and swelling, which usually disappear within a few days, as does a feeling of tightness. The use of traction threads may result in a slight tightening of the skin, but this is also only of a temporary nature.
